We deeply mourn the loss of our company founder
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ludwig Schreiber, who passed away on
May 7, 2021 at the age of 93

Ludwig Schreiber founded the Müller-BBN GmbH with four other shareholders in 1962, which he shaped as managing director and, after his retirement, as director.

In addition to teaching room acoustics and soundproofing at the Technical University of Munich, where he was appointed to honorary professor in 1989, he was chairman of the Acoustics, Noise Reduction and Vibration Engineering Standards Committee (NALS at DIN and VDI and the Bavarian State Association in the Association of Consulting Engineers VBI.   Ludwig Schreiber was also chairman of various technical committees of the DIN and VDI as well as for acoustics and thermal building physics in the VBI. With a lot of commitment and broad technical expertise, he contributed to important DIN standards, guidelines and numerous publications, which gave him a high reputation in the professional world.

His high level of competence and his unfailing instinct for engineering methods, that can be implemented in everyday engineering practices, were essential prerequisites for engineering acoustics to become a manageable, now indispensable, cross-sectional discipline of modern planning and engineering. As a co-founder of the German Society for Acoustics, which made him an honorary member in 2019, Ludwig Schreiber also contributed to ensuring appropriate opportunities for professional exchange as well as representation in society as a whole.

Even in his retirement he took part in the development of Müller-BBM with a lot of passion as a partner; he was a great engineer and an understanding mentor for many colleagues in our group of companies.

We have lost a  great colleague and friend.

He will not be forgotten.
